How to turn your Summer favourites into Winter staples

For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, I hope you have been enjoying the colours as the seasons change.

For me, it is one of my favourite times of the year, and I got to enjoy some amazing sunny days in nature before I came back to Goa for the winter a few weeks ago.

I love the crisp fresh air, and the bright blue sky against the yellows, oranges and browns of the changing nature around me. A chance to wear more layers and get cozy with loved ones with home cooked food and time spent at home.

But, this also means I start to grab the layers when I go out in Catana Clothing designs. Earlier this year it pushed me to want to offer more items that can be worn in the colder months also.

A few months ago, Lloyd, the owner & designer behind Butcher Apparel, and I, decided to put an Autumn shoot together with a photographer friend at a gorgeous location in the southern Peak District, with the intention to show you how Catana Clothing and Butcher Apparel can be worn as the days get colder.

Designing the Maine Coon Jacket together has been a game changer, especially with the option to add cotton fleece. I am not exaggerating when I tell you IT IS SO WARM AND COZY.

It is the perfect layer to put over any Catana Clothing outfit.

When we designed it, I didn't want to miss a detail. So I made sure it had long sleeves with thumb holes, a collar, hood and ribbed stitch detail for texture across the hood, back, arms and at the waist to exaggerate the female figure. Lloyd created the drape shape to give it even more gorgeous flow before we decided on adding brass D rings to finish it off, so you can add your desired accessories and chains.

This jacket has been hugely popular at the events and conventions we've been too, and I have loved seeing so many women (and men!) rock it.

Then we have our long sleeved layering options with the Siberian Slice Bolero, another collaboration piece between Lloyd and I.

I created this so that you can add warmth, but still show off the outfit underneath. So it pairs purfectly with all our tops and especially the Abyssinian bamboo dress, which can be dressed for winter with a pair of leggings - my go too are the burnt velvet ones by Black Milk thrifted off Vinted.

The Siberian Slice has the same ribbed detail stitching as the Maine Coon, and a double layered hood and arm warmers with thumb holes. Plus, it has an amazing double layered snood with an asymmetric zip so that it doesn't sit on your face when you pull it up as a face mask. This is an original design feature from Butcher Apparel and it's so versatile. I LOVE wearing this during the night at festivals, fire performing or riding my motorbike in Goa. It is functional at keeping you warm, keeping out the dust and giving you complete ninja protection.

Plus, it is now available to order with added cotton fleece lining for days with an extra cold bite.

I also designed this to be specifically worn layered over the Lykoi 2025 bamboo top with the Persian bamboo top underneath. The cut out back of the Lykoi shows off the Persian lace up back perfectly. Layer the Siberian Slice over the top, and you are ready for the colder weather, but still show the gorgeous back detailing of all three designs.

I often style this top combination with the Persian Skirt, which is by far my most worn piece of Catana Clothing due to its versatility for any occasion.

Or wear the Lykoi 2025 and Persian combination on its own in all three other colours. For the shoot I paired it with my favourite pair of high waisted PULLER Trousers by Butcher Apparel in Black Scrapyard.

And finally, the Ragamuffin Bamboo off shoulder top and high waisted legging set.

This is a set that was part of the first collection I released back in 2022. But has undergone some improvements since.

Both now have amazing cotton mesh inserts in the sleeves and flare, the top boasting a gorgeous lace up back and off shoulder cut, whilst the leggings now have a cross over V cut high waist band and contour stitching on the thighs.

The leggings are another one of my personal most worn pieces in my wardrobe as they are good for ANY occasion and are SO COMFY TO WEAR.

I LOVE pairing this set with the Maine Coon jacket with fleece for extra warmth.
